The University of Oradea has 15 faculties, offering Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Romanian and English.

The following degree programs are taught in English:

 Bachelor:

  1. Robotics (4 years) in the Faculty of Management and Technological Engineering
  2. International Relations and European Studies (3 years) in the Faculty of History, International Relations, Political Science and Communication Sciences
  3. Geography of Tourism (3 years) in the Faculty of Geography, Tourism and Sport
  4. Physiotherapy and special motor skills (3 years) in the Faculty of Geography, Tourism and Sport
  5. Medicine (6 years) in the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy
  6. International Business (3 years) in the Faculty of Economics
  7. Business Administration (3 years) in the Faculty of Economics

 Master:

  1. European Studies (2 years) in the Faculty of History, International Relations, Political Science and Communication Sciences
  2. Advanced Systems in Mechatronics (2 years) in the Faculty of Management and Technological Engineering
  3. Tourism, Management and Planning (2 years) in the Faculty of Geography, Tourism and Sport
  4. Advanced Management (2 years) in the Faculty of Economics

 

The medical residency program is conducted in Romanian only. Candidates must provide proof of Romanian language proficiency or attend a Romanian language course before applying. Documents and forms for residency.

  Eligible candidates Nationals from EU, EEA and EC third countries are admitted to study in Romania on the basis of study documents, through a competitive application procedure for places on their own account.

Candidates from EU, EEA and EC third countries are entitled to pursue undergraduate, master, residency, doctoral and postdoctoral studies at UO if they meet the following eligibility conditions:

-        They have documents proving EU, EEA and EC third state citizenship;

-        They are not citizens who apply for or have acquired a form of protection in Romania or stateless persons whose stay in Romania is officially recognized by law;

-        They have study certificates issued by recognized educational institutions in their home country that give access to the higher education system in the issuing country

Language of study

  1. Studies in Romanian language

Candidates without Romanian language skills can enroll in Romanian-taught programs after completing a Romanian language preparatory course in the academic year preceding their admission. Upon finishing the preparatory year, they will receive a Romanian language proficiency certificate.

Alternatively, candidates who already have a strong command of Romanian may take the Romanian language proficiency test, administered by the Faculty of Letters (email: Această adresă de email este protejată contra spambots. Trebuie să activați JavaScript pentru a o vedea.). Those who pass will be awarded a certificate of proficiency. Only language proficiency certificates issued by accredited universities will be recognized.

Candidates who submit Romanian educational documents (diplomas and certificates) or educational documents proving at least four consecutive years of study in a pre-university school or three consecutive years in a higher education institution accredited in Romania will be exempted from taking the Romanian language test.

  1. Studies in English

Candidates from third EU, EEA and Swiss Confederation countries Foreign candidates can study in English only if they present a Certificate / Attestation of language proficiency minimum level B1 issued by accredited higher education institutions in Romania. The University of Oradea organizes, within the Faculty of Letters, exams for obtaining Certificates of Language Proficiency.

Candidates who have an English Language Certificate / Attestation obtained in another country / Certificate with international recognition will submit a certified copy of the Certificate / Attestation to the application file, and a committee of the Faculty of Letters will issue certificates certifying its recognition upon registration.

Selection criteria

Bachelor degree - Results obtained during previous studies / baccalaureate or equivalent

  • with the exception of the Medicine/English-language Medicine/Dentistry study programs within the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, the admission process will be conducted according to a set of specific criteria, as outlined in Annex 1;
  • Program-specific admission requirements (elimination tests where applicable).

The application files for registration in undergraduate studies or for the preparatory year of Romanian language will contain the following documents in electronic format(pdf):

Candidates who submit their application for admission to the admission competition through a third party must grant a power of attorney to be represented by a notary when submitting their application. It must contain the candidate's contact details (name, surname, passport number, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address).

CA 365 verifies the eligibility and content of the application files in accordance with the legal provisions. Dossiers that do not comply with all eligibility requirements or that do not fall within the posted timetable will be rejected.

Within 5 calendar days after the end of the period for the submission of application files, CA 365 will send copies of the candidates' documents to the admission committees of the faculties for equivalence, evaluation and classification

CA 365 is not responsible for the equivalence, evaluation and ranking of candidates.

The admission commissions of the faculties will analyze the study documents submitted by the candidates and will fill in the evaluation and selection minutes (Annex 4). In the case of undergraduate studies, the equivalence will be carried out by the grid for the conversion of grades and qualifications at the pre-university level (Annex 5).

The equivalency assessment, evaluation, and ranking of candidates are the exclusive responsibilities of the faculty admission committees. Candidates whose grades, after conversion to the Romanian grading system, result in an average below 5.00 will be rejected.

In order to issue Acceptance Letters, the files of the candidates declared admitted and confirmed will be forwarded to MEC.

The letter of acceptance is valid only for the higher education institution for which it was issued, starting with the academic year for which it was issued and for the academic cycle concerned. Any change in the academic program that is contrary to the initial letter of acceptance will be regulated, at the request of the UO, by the issuance of a new letter of acceptance by the MEC.

Enrolment

The last day of the enrolment is the last day of the first semester.

Foreign citizens will be enrolled at the faculty for which they have opted, for preparatory year of Romanian language/short-term studies/ bachelor's degree/ master's degree/ master's degree/ residency/ doctorate/ postdoctoral studies if they fulfill the following conditions, as applicable:

  1.  have passed the entrance exam/entrance exam;
  2.  have passed the specific tests in art, sport and architecture;
  3.  have the letter of acceptance to studies, issued by the specialized directorate of the Ministry of Education and Research;
  4.  submit the file with the original study documents, accompanied by copies or notarized translations in Romanian, in accordance with UO regulations;
  5.  submit other documents requested by UO, according to its own regulations;
  6.  hold the Certificate of Language Proficiency in Romanian, minimum level B1,
  7.  present the Certificate of Language Proficiency in English;
  8.  present a valid passport with an entry visa for study purposes;

 

 IMPORTANT:

  •  The University does NOT have any cooperation or representation agreements with agencies that broker candidate registration. Candidates who wish to apply through agents/agencies do not benefit from any advantage compared to candidates applying independently. Candidates take full responsibility for the accuracy and authenticity of the documents submitted, even if the documents have been submitted via an agent/agency.
