The University of Oradea has 15 faculties offering undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Romanian and English. The courses offered in Romanian language are available on the website of each faculty.

The University of Oradea offers courses taught in English for the following majors:

Licence:

  1. Robotics (4 years) in the Faculty of Management and Technological Engineering
  2. International Relations and European Studies (3 years) in the Faculty of History, International Relations, Political Science and Communication Sciences
  3. Geography of Tourism (3 years) in the Faculty of Geography, Tourism and Sport
  4. Kinesiology and Special Motor Therapy (3 years) in the Faculty of Geography, Tourism and Sport
  5. Medicine (6 years) in the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy
  6. International Business (3 years) in the Faculty of Economics
  7. Business Administration (3 years) in the Faculty of Economics

Master:

  1. European Studies (2 years) in the Faculty of History, International Relations, Political Science and Communication Sciences
  2. Advanced Systems in Mechatronics (2 years) in the Faculty of Management and Technological Engineering
  3. Tourism, Management and Planning (2 years) in the Faculty of Geography, Tourism and SportAdvanced Management (2 years) in the Faculty of Economics

Language of study :

1. Studies in Romanian language

Foreign candidates who do not speak Romanian may apply for studies in Romanian provided that they attend a preparatory Romanian language course one year before enrolment. At the end of the preparatory year, candidates will receive a Romanian language certificate. If the candidate already has knowledge of Romanian, he/she can take a Romanian language proficiency test at the Faculty of Letters, after which a Romanian language certificate will be issued.  Only Romanian language certificates issued by Romanian Universities that are accredited to issue these certificates are accepted.

The fee for the language proficiency exam is 400 RON.

2. Studies in English language

Candidates who choose English-taught majors will have to undergo an interview before the entrance exam, depending on the faculty they have chosen.

3. Places available

Each year, the University Senate, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and Research, decides on the number of places available. The number of available places is published on the University's website.

4. Admission session 2025

The deadline for submission of applications to the Admissions Office 365 to obtain the Certificate of Recognition of Studies is 13 June 2025.

Each faculty will have its own admissions calendar.

The September 2025 admission session is subject to the availability of places remaining after the July 2025 session.

 

Candidates eligible for EU, European Economic Area and Swiss Confederation and British.

- candidates from the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation and from the United Kingdom who have graduated from an accredited secondary school or college in their country of origin and recognized by the Ministry of Education

-British citizens and their family members as beneficiaries of the Agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community 2019/C 384 I/01

Admission for EU, European Economic Area and Swiss Confederation and British applicants has two stages:

1. Obtain the certificate of recognition of previous studies from the Ministry of  Education and Research (certificate issued by the National Centre for the Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas).

2. Participation of candidates in the entrance exam organized by the University of Oradea.

1ST STAGE 

- obtaining the certificate of recognition of previous studies from the Ministry of Education and Research (certificate issued by the National Centre for the Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas). According to Law 316/2006, all the above mentioned citizens have access to all forms of education under the same conditions as Romanian citizens, including tuition fees.

The necessary documents for obtaining the Certificate of Recognition of Studies by the University of Oradea are:

  1. Application form for the University of Oradea Annex 2a
  2. Application form for obtaining the certificate of recognition of studies Annex 6a
  3. Baccalaureate diploma - simple copy if the diploma is issued in Romanian/English/French/Spanish/Italian and certified translations into Romanian of diplomas issued in languages other than those mentioned above.
  4. Transcripts for all years of high school - simple copies if the documents are issued in Romanian/English/French/Spanish/Italian and certified translations of documents issued in languages other than those mentioned above.
  5. Other documents (e.g. Pruebas de Aptitud para el Acceso a la Universidad, calificación Apto from Spain, - legalizations made in Greece must be stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece; certificate issued by Verket för högskoleservice regarding access to university studies from Sweden, Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or ACT from the U.S.A., Exames Nacionais do Ensino Secundario from Portugal, copy and certified translation, except for study documents in English, French, Spanish and Italian
  6. Identification documents (photocopy): passport pages 1,2,3,4 or identity card.
  7. Annex 8
  8. Confirmation of payment of the non-refundable application processing fee of EUR 150.

Diplomas obtained in Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Cyprus must be attested with a Hague Convention apostille!

For the other countries, the educational documents (original diplomas) must be authenticated or accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the competent authorities of the country of origin. Original diplomas issued in States that are NOT parties to the Hague Apostille Convention will be super-legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country, the Embassy/Consular Office of Romania in that country or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country and its Embassy/Consular Office in Romania and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania; for countries where there are no diplomatic missions of Romania or which do not have diplomatic missions in Romania, the documents of studies will be endorsed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country;

The candidate is declared eligible when the file is complete. Admissions Office 365 forwards the documents to the Ministry of Education and Research to issue the certificate of recognition of studies. Once this is obtained, candidates can continue their studies in Romania.

If the certificate of recognition of studies is not issued, the candidate cannot apply.

One important thing to know is that admission can be done strictly through the University of Oradea and you do not need agents to help you with the paperwork. The University is in charge of helping you through all the steps in the admission procedures.

FILE PROCESSING

Before the file is processed by the University of Oradea, all candidates must pay a non-refundable file processing fee of 150 euros, a fee set at the university level. The application processing fee will be paid to the university's account before the application is submitted and covers the costs of issuing the certificate. Once the application processing fee is paid, it cannot be refunded.

2ND STAGE 

Registration at the university of candidates for admission by examination or by competitive examination is made based on recognition of studies by the Ministry of Education and Research, together with the original documents that must be presented during the legal admission period. The registration file must contain the documents according to the admission regulations of the University of Oradea for the year.

To register for the entrance exam, candidates will have to submit the following documents:

* if any of these documents are missing the application will not be accepted.

  1. Baccalaureate diploma or equivalent in original and a certified translation into Romanian.
  2. Original high school transcript and a certified translation into Romanian.
  3. Certificate issued by the Ministry of Education and Reasearch proving that the student has the right to study in Romania (this certificate is issued by the Ministry of Education and Research, based on the file sent for evaluation).
  4. Copy of birth certificate and certified translation into Romanian.
  5. Copy of passport or identity card
  6. Registration fee of 200 RON
  7. Marriage certificate (if the student's name changed after marriage).
  8. Medical certificate.
